Abstract

In the practice of ore and particular coal flotation, the injection of oils (nonpolar reagents) into the flotation pulp intensifies the process of the flotation, separation of the particles of different minerals, and contributes of extraction into the foam product considerably of the larger and heavier particles, no floating before. However, conducted studies to present time do not permit to explain significant strengthening of contact between the bubble and the solid base layer. Obviously, for investigating the mechanism of the action of nonpolar reagents, the way of the quantitative assessment of the forces that act between the solid surface and fixed on it bubble, taking into account the capillary forces of detachment, is reliable and perspective. The paper presents the obtained results of the numerical calculation of developed model that permitted to explain the mechanism of the action of nonpolar reagents on the complex gas bubble - solid material in the fluid and, therefore on the process of flotation.
