Abstract

Abstract
This research paper presents the analysis of the effect of human hair in compressive and split tensile strength of concrete. In the recent time due to a significant increase in population increases large amount of human hairs. Human hairs are strong in tension and it also reduces greater impact, abrasions and shatter resistances in concrete and prevents many problems in this environment. Fiber reinforcement improves the impact strength and fatigue strength, and also reduces shrinkage. It also increases the tensile strength of concrete. The fiber which is used is natural fiber that is human hair which is a waste material generally having a problem of disposal. Here human hair is used to reinforce concrete known as human hair reinforced concrete. It is an effective method for the construction of lightweight seismic resistant structures. Various properties of concrete and strength increase by adding human hair with concrete with different testing time. Laboratory test was conducted on concrete cubes & cylinders of standard size with. Ordinary Portland Cement of M20 grade (CC mix) was prepared with varying percentage of hair as 0, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 & 4 by weight of cement. After curing period of 7 & 28 days, different tests were conducted on concrete and observations were made.
