Performance Optimization of Reflectors Integrated Flat Plate Solar Collector for Water Heating
Abstract
As the demand for energy is increasing day by day, so to compensate that they use renewable
energy is the best choice in these days. Solar energy is one of the best renewable energy
resources. A flat solar collector is using to heat water for domestic as well as commercial
levels. In this research, optimization of the thermal efficiency of a flat solar collector is done,
reflector angle, day time and flow rate are the input parameters. The optimum thermal
efficiency of flat plate collector is achieved 60.2% at proposed parametric setting, 70°
reflector angle, .1 lit/min flow rate and 14.00 hr. Day time. The efficiency of flat solar
collector is enhanced by using reflector, Maximum efficiency of 60.3% is obtained by using
reflector near to 13.30 pm, 4.9% enhancement is observed in the efficiency by the use
reflector.
