Mathematical Model and Analysis of Dual Axis Solar Tracking Mechanism

Nilay Srivastava, Rashmi Chawla

Abstract

Abstract
The recent years have seen solar energy as one of the most potential candidate for electric power generation. However, the low output conversion efficiency still remains the matter for concern. The maximum power energy output relies on myriad environmental factors. This paper investigates the role of radiation intensity and panel position for better output efficiency and proposes an efficient dual axis solar tracking mathematical modelling that tracks the sun irrespective of the weather condition, and maximizes its output. The purpose served in this paper is to develop a new and simple mathematical model for the tracking mechanism, whose accuracy can be increased with the help of sensors. The efficacy of the model was tested and verified through simulation on MATLAB.
