Enhancement in Mechanical properties of fly ash based self compacted concrete

SHAIKH MOHD ZUBAIR MOHD ISMAIL, KHAN ATHER AHMED KHAN

Abstract

Conventional concrete offers problems while filling in the complex formwork where high amount of reinforcement present and it is difficult to use vibrator for consolidation of concrete, in such scenarios to overcome the problems self compacted concrete (SCC) becomes more popular in a construction industry. for betterĀ  durability performance self compacted concrete is generally produce by adding mineral admixture, to ensure SCC the filling ability, passing ability and segregation resistance test is performed.

Present study deals with following the modification applied to IS 10262:2009 by considering compressive strength as per limitations of EFNARC and Fly ash based mix designed of self compacted concrete is produced by using 10%, 20% and 30% fly ash. The properties slump flow, V-funnel, L-box test and Compressive strength were studied.
