Abstract

Modern processes have been taken part in the market and industries. Optimization is a major part of the industry and it is a big major challenge in the industry. The industry is keen to implement the optimization in each area of industry. Optimization provides accuracy and productivity for the product. Honing is known as super finishing manufacturing process. After boring, honing is carried out and it is the last operation of any component. Honing provides accomplished surface finishing in the cylinder liner. The main purpose of honing is to give prevention against the leakage of oil. RPM, Number of strokes, Expansion pressure are the input parameters and output parameter is Surface roughness. Parameters of honing process such as RPM, number of strokes, expansion pressure have been optimized. Then with the help of ANOVA no. of stroke is considered as a most influence input parameter. Different main effect graphs are considered for output parameter, surface roughness for different parameters of surface roughness such asRa and Rz and considering that no. of stroke is a most important input parameter. Then regression analysis gives practical validation when comparing to theoretical analysis and by doing this thing means (optimization), production rate is increased and productivity is increased. With the help of full factorial method practical test means experiments have been done. Then production rate and productivity have been increased.
