Abstract

Abstract

Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique implemented on a Photo-Voltaic (PV) system is meant for increasing its efficiency. In literature may research work claims MPPT technique as one of the most efficient way in enhancing output power generated. The output electrical parameters (V-I curve) of PV (photovoltaic) system depends on the irradiance, temperature, configuration, environmental conditions and analogy of a PV system. MPPT regulates the system at the reference voltage and makes the system to generate maximum power. This study does the comparative evaluation of the two MPPT methods in literature Perturb and Observe (P&O), and Incremental and Conductance (INC) owing to their wide application. The comparison performance analysis was done theoretically and by implementing the simulation of both methods on MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation is done based on varying irradiance and temperature.
