Static and Dynamic Analysis of Wind Turbine Blade

Rakesh K. Rajan, Kannan S.

Abstract

Abstract
Wind energy generation systems located on windy sites are exposed quite often to intense overloads as a result of the varying climatic conditions. So, vital information concerning the design of wind turbine is provided by the stress and strain mapping on a rotor, which leads to the blade’s failure. One of the main concerns in the rotor blade and the wind turbine blades’ aero elasticity is the analysis of static and dynamic behavior of a rotor. The major intend of this work is the analysis of the stress due to various forces and the calculation of the natural frequencies of the rotor blade. For the analysis, different material compositions are taken into consideration which include composite materials.
