Communication Safety: Ensuring Safety One Tower at a time

Abstract

This study deals with the necessary safety measures taken into the consideration while modelling the communication towers. The improvements in stiffness, mass and damping because of the increased strength in materials is discussed here. The study also carries out the possible ways of providing solutions to the towers being struck by lightning and how the devices and the circuitry are safeguarded. The way of estimating the wind forces on the towers to support cellular and microwave antennas is studied. This study also involves the Line of sight communication with the terrain models. A method for optimum weight design for the communication towers is presented in this current work.
