Reliable Function used to Improve Security by Eliminating Malicious Nodes in VANET
Abstract
Abstract
Vehicular ad hoc network is a rising direction of research in improvement of network and communication. It is a type of ad hoc network in which there is a decentralized type of wireless network. It is communication-less which makes it powerless against assaults like DoS. The incoming traffic flooding the victim originates from many different sources. This effectively makes it impossible to stop the attack simply by blocking a single source. This paper is used for malicious and irrelevant packet detection algorithm for detecting malicious node on the basis of node velocity and the frequency of packet generated depends on node’s maximum velocity. Basically, vehicles move with speed which cannot efficaciously recognize malicious nodes. In our proposed work, we calculate the average speed of vehicles and check the performance of vehicles so that we can recognize the true malicious nodes and then apply reliable function to detect malicious nodes. In our results, we improved packet delivery ratio, routing overhead and throughput of the network.
