Circularly Polarized Microstrip Fed Antenna for Dual Frequency

Ankit Kumar, Sudhanshu Verma

Abstract

Abstract: The presented antenna is designed for achieving dual frequency characterized circularly polarized behavior. The achievement of dual frequency is done by coupling of the microstrip feed line arrangement with the annular slot shaped with four unequal arms type of slot structure on the patch. The Reflection coefficient, pattern of radiation of the antenna and the Axial ratio are simulated. The impedance bandwidths obtained for lower of (RHCP) is 25% and for the higher of (LHCP) bands is 12%. The 3 dB of the axial-ratio bandwidths are found to be 6.2% and 5.8% with respect to 1.8 GHz (RHCP) and 2.8 GHz (LHCP), respectively.

Keywords: RHCP (right-hand circularly polarised), LHCP, (left-hand circularly polarised), slotted antenna
