Abstract

In recent years, market of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system (HVAC) has escalated a lot. These units provide cooling and conditioned atmosphere to automobiles, buildings, cold storage etc. HVAC units are very reliable and effective but they produce some adverse impact on environment. This paper proposes the use of solar energy with thermoelectric (Peltier) technology. In order to determine the efficiency of solar energy assisted thermoelectric module, it is necessary to determine the feasibility in terms of rate of refrigeration (ROR), Power consumption and efficiency (COP). A mathematical model is designed which predict the behavior and performance of thermoelectric cooler in air-conditioning unit. The experimental results suggests the peak loading operation on automobile.
