Abstract

Abstract

For a soon to be developed India, the renewable energy resources will be the centre around which the wheel of growth will revolve. In our country the energy shortage problem and the alarming rate at which pollution is rising have given way to the domestic solar photovoltaic ON grid system. This leads to the problem of bidirectional metering of electrical energy. In response to this problem we are developing this IOT based bidirectional energy meter. It provides net metering to consumers as a measure of the difference between the solar PV generated units and the units consumed from the electric grid. Automatic bill generation has also been integrated that will make bill payments easy, reliable and transparent. IOT is one of the leading technologies which will help in monitoring of the bidirectional energy meter through a website or a mobile application that can be accessed from anywhere across the globe. With the help of IOT user can retrieve information regarding the electric energy consumption and generation.
