Coir fibre a biodegradable natural fibre extracted from the husk of the coconut (Cocos Nucifera L.), traditionally used for manufacturing ropes, carpets or mattresses is now being used for manufacturing composite panel boards and could extensively substitute for wood and engineered wood products whose applications ranges from packaging to construction materials. Coir composite panel board samples were chemically treated with preservative solutions carrying combinations of Borax and Boric Acid with five different weight percentages and were subjected to thermal degradation using Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) techniques to obtain the values of different kinetic parameters of samples from degradation study.
