Bus Occupancy Estimation

Shraddha Mane

Abstract

The Bus Occupancy Application is a system which reduces the workload of the staff members working in Public Transport; as well it provides many advantages to passengers as compared to the current system. The proposed application will give passengers an accurate count of numbers that are already boarded onto the bus and are about to de-board the bus at the next station. The passengers can also book tickets online via online transactions and can help India make paper-less. Travelers waiting at bus stops will be provided with the current location of upcoming buses with estimated time required for the bus to arrive at forthcoming bus stops. The location is fetched from Staff members working inside that bus which will help the people using public transport to know about the frequency of buses and count of people that are already boarded and count of people that are about to de-board at the arriving bus stop.

Keywords

Bus occupancy, number of passengers boarding and de-boarding, calculating occupancy of a bus, digitally display the count of passengers on the bus.
