Saloni Sinha, Piyush Agrawal

Abstract

Abstract

This paper presents the optimization algorithm based maximum power point tracking techniques. Optimization of output of shaded and un-shaded photovoltaic array under either it is static or dynamic whether condition is the primary goal of each MPPT techniques. There are various aspects of each MPPT techniques such as cost effectiveness, simplicity of hardware and software, its implementation, requirement of sensor, level of popularity, level of accuracy and its convergence speed. Different rating are provided to each MPPT techniques based on its capability to work under fully illuminated or full sun and partial shaded condition. Evaluation of MPPT against complexity of algorithm, implementation of hardware, speed of tracking and accuracy of steady state condition is set on a rule based table. Information mention in the following paper is beneficial for information gathering in point of view of both engineers as well as the researchers. For the operation of standalone hybrid power system optimized fuzzy logic control algorithm has been developed (FLC). FLC works on the battery, probability of loss of power supply, excess energy and leveled energy cost.

Keywords: Maximum power point tracking (MPPT), Array configuration, Partial Shading.
