Abstract

Abstract

Since the invention of air conditioners, it has been used widely all over the world. The harmful effects of ACs cannot be ignored as far as the environment is concern. AC being widely used, needs a suitable alternative for sustainable goals to be achieved. Air conditioning with the help of forced ventilation system is studied in this research work. Its implementation and effects on the room temperature is studied in depth. This paper focuses on building a hybrid cooler unit which actually works on the refrigeration cycle and cools better than the normal air cooler in houses. Vapor compression refrigeration cycle is used as the basic concept to build this cooler. The idea to build this cooler is to get better performance than normal air cooler and eliminate the use of ACs. This cooler comprises of different cooling units. Cooling units that are used are, compressor, condenser, evaporator, fan and motor which provide the cooling of AC but in the form of a cooler. A simulation is done on when this cooler is used to make a room cooler by the different levels of the inlet and outlet of air in the room. It showed a good performance in decreasing the room temperature from 40°C to a whopping 25°C. And similar kind of results was obtained at the time of experimenting, that is, the temperature fall was obtained from 36.9°C to 23.61°C.
