Analysis of Groundwater Quality Parameters of Part of Nanded City, Maharashtra State (India)

J.V. Khanapurkar

Abstract

In Nanded township, generally the water is drawn from the shallow aquifers. As the soil thickness is more and because of its permeable and porous nature, the effluent water percolates into the ground and contaminates the groundwater. In this assessment, the physicochemical parameters like pH, calcium, chloride, alkalinity, total hardness, and salinity are determined by following the standard procedures given by Trivedi and Goel (1986). The sources of these contaminants are the industries, septic tank disposal, agricultural effluents, waste disposals, etc.
