Abstract

Many developing countries are nowadays focusing on the smart meters to measure electricity. In our paper, we describe the formation and working of prepaid energy meter using gsm technology. Present energy system is not giving appropriate result. Various types of errors are included in the output. These errors occur due to electro-mechanical meters, human errors and processing errors. The main objective of our project is to reduce the error and increase the system accuracy as well as efficiency. GSM technology is used to provide a communication path between user and the provider. By using this technique, user will be able to pay the electricity bill by own. This system can easily be handled by operator and give high quality output.
