Fire Detection and Control Passenger Trains using LabVIEW

With the busy life schedules and selfishness of the individuals, people lack the interest and zeal to know the world around them and the happenings in the world. In occurs of mishaps like accidents etc. people are least concerned and fears from offering help because of judiciary. This raises the need for finding a solution by incorporating fire detection and control to reduce the impact of accidents due to fire and save human life. An autonomous system is developed with incorporation of sensors and using graphical system design tool LabVIEW. The developed system detects the fire and the intensity. The information is made available to the passengers, loco pilot and the train guard. Based the intensity of fire, two types of actions are generated: 1) If the intensity of fire is mild, water is sprinkled to dowse the fire and alarm is also raised. 2) If the intensity of the fire is high, along with action 1, the bogie under fire is detached from other bogies to prevent spread of fire and the information is passed to all the stake holders. This designed system provides a solution for immediate action during accidents thus preventing or reducing human life loss.
