Abstract

Abstract

Water is an important resource. Water distribution network (WDN) which includes pipes is used to transport water from water treatment plants to homes. Every water distribution system (WDS) fails partially or completely during its lifetime. This paper gives the in-depth review of leakages caused in WDS. It provides the overview of various techniques implemented towards the occurrence and localization of leaks. This paper organized and classified the techniques into different categories for the better understanding.

Keywords: Water Distribution Network (WDN), Water Distribution System (WDS), Leak Detection, Pipe Failure
