To Evaluate the Effect of Vehicle Aerodynamics on the Drive Layout of Vehicle

Abstract


Nowadays, with the increase in competition in automobile sector, vehicle aerodynamics play an important role. Aerodynamics affects the performance of the vehicle due to changes in parameters such as downforce, drag forces and coefficient of drag which play a significant role at high speed. In this research paper downforce and drag force of vehicle are determined by analytical and numerical analysis of flow of air around it. For modeling of geometry SpaceClaim is used and to validate ANSYS CFX is used. The results of force reaction (drag force and downforce) of car body are found out from the ANSYS CFX at a given input parameter, Also it was found out by mathematical calculation, both results are very close to each other and it is valid.
