Estimation of Life Cycle Cost of RC Infrastructure Using Different Analysis Methods
Abstract
Accuracy of service life prediction largely influence life cycle cost of infrastructure. Recent research come up with the conclusion that ingression of chloride to cover concrete is dependent on the water penetration front which dramatically change the service life. Therefore, in this study chloride ion profiles and behavior of penetrating water for slag concrete with w/c ratio as 40%, 55% and 70%, respectively, cast in laboratory, were examined. Furthermore, life cycle costs for structure, using three different methods of analysis of chloride profiling, were estimated and compared.
