Effect of Adaptation Gain in Model Reference Adaptive Control

Normally, the conventional controllers are used to get desired response when noise and disturbances are there but they cannot give desired response when the system parameters change. Due to the disturbances or any external effects, the system parameters may change. Dynamical system may face this type of problem because its dynamics may change with time. So, adaptive control can be used for this type of problem. Adaptive controller has some adjustment mechanism which will change the control law parameter according to the change in the system parameter, by which the controller parameter will change and required process response can be achieved. Here, adaptive control will be used with the model reference adaptive control (MRAC) with the MIT rule (Rule developed by a Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
