Optimal Selection of Solar Tracking System in India: A Review
Abstract
At present, continuous efforts are being made to maximize the utilization of the solar energy and increase conversion efficiency of the PV array. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is a technique that is extensively used to track the sun so as to obtain maximum power. We review the various methodologies and techniques that have been used so far to design both single and dual axis solar trackers using MPPT. Keeping in view the climatic and seasonal variations in India, we studied the algorithms and control strategies used for controlling the tracking of the solar panels and discussed them along with their pros and cons.
