

Vibration analysis of Power transmission shafts in automobiles
Abstract
A power transmission shaft is considered in the present work and analyzed for vibrations. It is a shaft supported on single cylinder four stroke engine. Finite element analysis technique is applied to analyze for stresses and their intensities. The analysis is carried out for different engine speeds and later compared the results by using simulation software. It is observed form the results that there are critical speeds at which sudden failure takes place in the shafts.
