Abstract

To construct a microstrip patch antenna loaded with a metamaterial based patch with partial ground plane. The use of metamaterial in Microstrip Patch Antenna facilitates the enhancement of the performance of antenna and it bring down the antenna size. The structure of the microstrip is simulated at 7.3 GHz with the help of HFSS software. The parameters such as like return loss, VSWR, gain, radiation pattern are calculated. The brain phantom which have six layers is designed to replicate a realistic looking model of a human brain. The designed antenna is simulated on the brain phantom. The variation in the SAR and E-Field in the brain phantom is recorded and helps to detect the tumors in brain.
