LANXESS Contributes towards Reducing Carbon Emission in India

Abstract


India is witnessing the era of ‘global environmental change’ where people are getting more aware and concerned about the carbon emission and its ozone depleting effects. In India, the carbon emissions are at 1.8 t of CO2 per capita and gradually growing at an average growth rate of 6% over the past decade. The accelerated warming is happening majorly due to growing industrial activities and utilization of fossils fuels for energy generation. In all these years, businesses in India have adopted quantity-oriented, fossil fuel-driven manufacturing processes which have largely contributed towards the profit-seeking endeavors of the companies, but unfortunately, inability of these processes to adequately account for ecological considerations has forced organizations to develop a sustainable growth framework
