Maintenance Policies and Plant/Equipment Selection
Abstract
Availability of plant and equipment at all time is germane to industrial growth and development of any nation. One of the ways to achieve this is to give enough attention to the requirement of maintenance in the pre-investment/purchase of equipment phase. This paper therefore, attempts to examine the maintenance policy and plant/equipment selection from technical, economic and environmental perspectives. Thus, maintenance policies in this context are the principles, rules and procedures used in selecting plant/equipment.
