IoT Based Healthcare Assistant

Manish Sahani

Abstract

According to research, approximately 3000 people die monthly due to carelessness in health-related issues, out of which major portion of people consists of elderly individuals. This is because either they don’t have time for themselves and forget about their health management due to a heavy workload or forget to get regular health checkups which are needed to be done monthly or quarterly. In order to assist such people this internet of things-based healthcare project has been proposed. This project measures and saves personal health data and makes it accessible to the user on their mobile phones, where they can check all their historical health data. The greatest part of this development is its easy accessibility and easy to use compared to other available systems. It will support the user in avoiding health deterioration as well as result in monetary savings because medical conditions can be detected and treated at early stages. The IOT Based Healthcare Assistant for the elderly is cheapest healthcare device based on the IOT platform for the patients and doctors. It provides a solution for measurement of body parameters like ECG, Temperature, Moisture, and Heartbeat. It also detects the body parameters and location of the patients. In this project we are using various sensors and modules for performing a different type of functions and the “Thingspeak” Cloud service is used for storing all the data in the cloud. It provides security and facility of accessing all the parameters at any time which is very useful for the doctors at the time of treatment. This project also send an alert when it required i.e. at the time of any critical conditions and notification messages about the medicines, location change, conditions etc.
