The present work is to study the effect of turning process parameters on the multiple responses of material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (Ra). The experiments were carried out on EN24 a medium carbon steel which has a wide range of applications in the field of aircraft and automotive and mainly use in components such as gears, shafts, studs and bolts, connecting rods, propeller or gear shafts and aircraft landing gear components etc. For the four selected process parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut and nose radius) with mixed levels, Taguchi’s standard L16 orthogonal array has been used for conducting the experiments. The results of Grey analysis concluded that the optimal combination of process parameters corresponding for high material removal rate and low surface roughness simultaneously is at 2000 rpm of speed, 0.2 mm/rev of feed, 1.2 mm of doc and 0.4 mm of nose radius respectively. The ANOVA results showed that the nose radius has the high influence on the multi response and followed by depth of cut, speed and feed.
