Abstract

In current scenario, the automobile sector has come up with the advanced technologies that provides
great comfort to the customer. As today each and every person wants to be in comfort zone and safety
and people do like to go on adventurous trips or on long drive as their hobbies. As when we heard the
term adventure it comes up with off roading, driving on mountain roads and so on. But when we go for
off roading the term ground clearance of vehicle matters a lot because of low ground clearance of
vehicle at off road condition it causes damage to the chassis as well as other parts of vehicle too also
it me lead to major accident. As if sufficient ground clearance is achieved then there will be a great
driving comfort, it also prevents the damaging of vehicles on off road conditions and provide better
visually. The main reason behind the research is to provide driving comfort by adjusting the ground
clearance as well as to prevent the vehicle from any damage and accident. So, to achieve comfort
conditions and to prevent a damage or accident the automatic ground clearance can be adjusted as per
need of road conditions this is possible with the help of sum of few mechanisms, so the adjustment of
ground clearance of four-wheeler is studied and fabricated. To adjust the ground clearance, we use
both active as well as passive suspension. By this mechanism, we can increase the ground clearance of
the vehicle by 75 mm. For detecting the obstacle to adjust the ground clearance of mechanism we must
use sensors. Here in this system, the automatic adjustment in the ground clearance of the car can be
achieved due to which we can get comfort in off road conditions too. The system will be mostly useful
and suitable to military vehicles and small passenger cars. By means of this mechanism economic of
the vehicle is also get increase, maximum output of vehicle is possible.
