Abstract

This project primarily aims to lessen issues that arise when crossing roadways and effectively manage traffic. The collision avoidance system serves as the prototype for smart roadways. It is a project with a cutting-edge concept for road safety. Here, an Arduino UNO serves as the controller and is used to connect the servo motor, LED (traffic signals), and ultrasonic sensor. The major goal of the study is to control and organize a steady flow of traffic without causing any accidents at zebra crossings and to enforce the law for everyone who has been breaking it. The system uses passive pedestrian detection to identify the presence of pedestrians and regulate the traffic lights. The system successfully measures the criteria expected of a smart zebra crossing system and is independent. Following observations made to gather information for the study, it became apparent that the proposed system should be used to address issues with the remaining system. The system's design integrated electronic engineering and related information collection. The future system has been designed using a variety of tools, including the Arduino IDE, C++, Arduino Uno microcontroller, and sensors.
