Abstract

Abstract

Relative study of rectangular patch, U-slot patch and E-slot patch antenna is conferred in this paper. The operating frequency is selected from S-band (2 GHz–4 GHz) which is relevant for Industrial science and medical (ISM) band, Bluetooth communication as well as wireless land area network (WLAN). High-frequency structure simulator (HFSS) software is used to investigate the results of the antennas. Microstrip patch antenna (MSPA) experience low Gain and narrow bandwidth. So in this paper we enhanced its bandwidth by introducing slots in the patch and by varying height of the substrate to get effective bandwidth In addition to rectangular MSPA U-Slot MSPA has 0.42% bandwidth enhancement whereas for the E-slot MSPA it is found to be 8.16%.
