Prospects of Microwave Energy for Coal Processing
Abstract
Microwave technology has gained worldwide acceptance as a novel method for heating, sintering and phase transformation of minerals and materials, as it offers specific advantages in terms of speed, energy/power efficiency, process simplicity, improved properties and produces the finer microstructures and lower environmental hazards. This paper shows the various prospects about the application of microwave energy in coal processing and utilization. This paper also summarizes about the detail microwave heating characteristics of coal along with its dielectric properties. This review paper shows that how the microwave energy provides the proper mechanism for coal processing. This paper also describe about the challenges adopting the microwave process and how unable to scale up in commercialization and industries.
