Abstract

Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is a device which is used to compensate the voltage sags and swells for the protection of sensitive loads. The compensation is done by use of a converter, in this paper DVR configuration is based on asymmetrical cascade multicell converter. One of the main advantages of asymmetrical cascade multicell is increase in the number of output voltage levels with reduced number of switches. 15 level asymmetrical CM are employed here, this paper presents simulation of 15 level asymmetrical CM. So many methods are used for voltage injection, but here pre sag voltage compensation strategy is used and voltage detection is based on synchronous reference frame (SRF) theory.
