Abstract

The present work is aimed to study some characteristics of the two recently commercialized CRY18 and CRY19 crystals (Crytur, Cz), namely the elemental compositions, and the suitability of a TiO 2 -based white-pigment as light-reflector around the blind faces of the scintillators. The energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence
technique has been used for the first goal while the second one has been performed by comparing the emission spectrum of the first crystal to the literature ones typical of the TiO 2 .
