Various types and configurations of renewable energy system (RES) have been covered lately in many researches, one of which is PV-wind generator-battery. For the sake of system evaluation, a data acquisition mechanism is needed, particularly for system monitoring and controlling. This paper will describe about preliminary research on a PC-based monitoring and controlling system for PV-wind generator-battery configuration. Monitoring parameters are voltage and current of PV-wind generator, battery, and load. As for controlling, the battery charge-discharge state is managed in order to optimize battery lifetime. This PC-based system makes use of LabVIEW software, which is expected to be easily modified for further improvement.
