Abstract

This research paper deals with the design and simulation of a cost effective, facile and robust smart photovoltaic system for Leading University Campus, Sylhet, Bangladesh. All electrical loads have been calculated from electrical layout design using AutoCAD. Selected essential loads have also been calculated which is required for redundancy of whole electrical system. Different parameters like power consumption demands, size of the PV modules, inverter sizing, battery sizing, solar charge controller sizing have been calculated and analyzed to construct the PV system. Also a cost effective grid system has been proposed in this paper for this smart photovoltaic system. The simulation was done on MATLAB SIMULINK ensuring the synchronization of frequency and phase of the output AC signal with the grid. A comparative cost analysis has also been shown between the conventional system and the proposed system. Keywords: Electrical Drawing, AutoCAD, Load Analysis, PV Module, Simulation Design, and Cost Analysis
