Abstract

This paper proposes the energy efficiency of a smart gallery lighting system based on a low-cost microcontroller. The main objective is to design energy efficient based system for controlling the tube lights based gallery lamps via appropriate lighting based on movement. We aim to make a smart gallery lighting system that glows only when it is necessary and goes to the OFF position when it is not, in a very smart way. So, this stride helps in the reduction of power usage comparatively. LDR sensor would eliminate the problem of lights being left ON during the daytime. To overcome this problem, we have used a PIR sensor that automatically detects any moving body in its vicinity and turns ON the light connected with this sensor. As the body moves forward, more lights ahead in the gallery get ON automatically using a PIR sensor and backlights get turn OFF. This process will be followed till that person has passed that gallery. Suppose the body stops somewhere in the gallery then only two lights beside that person will keep ON glowing. So, this smart system will save energy in a very intelligent manner.
