Reliability Optimization of Radial Distribution Systems Considering Failure Rate and Repair Time Earmarking using Languid Particle Swarm Optimization (LPSO)

Aditya Tiwary

Abstract

In this paper a methodology for reliability improvement of radial distribution system by establishing optimal values of repair times and failure rates is considered. Objective function related to failure rates and repair times is been designed. Constraints are taken based on customer and energy based indices. Languid Particle Swarm Optimization (LPSO) a variant of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has been used as optimization technique. The method is implemented on radial distribution system. Results obtained have been shown in result section.
