A Major apprehension of Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) for extraction of residual oil & minimizing emission of Greenhouse Gas(GHG)
Abstract
This paper deals with the incorporation of carbon-di-oxide into the pressure depleted reservoir to increase the production of the reservoir as well as to inject the carbon-di-oxide in a depleted reservoir to reduce the GHG emissions into the atmosphere. It also considers about the disputes arising due to legal proceedings, technology framework, geological barriers, stakeholder indifferences, project economics and environmental constraints for accomplishment of a successful CCS project.
