Abstract

Bio-butanol production from lignocellulosic biomass considered promising and Economically feasible. This paper provides an development of lignocellulose-based bio-butanol production with a focus on the understanding of the structure of the feedstock, pretreatment technologies, and fermentation processes. To enhance butanol production from lignocellulose materials, strategies in terms of inhibitors detoxification, strains improvement and process integration and optimization are also addressed. Besides, there researchers attempts to shed light on the challenges and perspectives for the bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass-to-butanol.
