Literature Review on Structures subjected to Material and Geometric Non-Linearity

Abstract


Concrete as a building material has improved tremendously during the last few decades owing to extensive research and development by engineers on and off the field. This improvement is the outcome of the constant quest to make the concrete strong, durable and serviceable along with achieving economy of the structure. These strength and serviceability criteria can be achieved along with economy if the structures are designed keeping in mind all the parameters that may hamper the life of the structure. This is where second order analysis comes into play. Non linear analysis is one such type of second order analysis which is reviewed in this paper.
