Abstract

Three solar cell were made using Gum Arabic treated with potassium bromide with three types of dyes (Saffron dye, Henna dye and Blue 8GX dye) by using Spin Coating. Powder of gum Arabic and amount of potassium bromide was made by heated in temperature 100OC firstly, and using USB 2000 spectrometer device to calculated optical energy band gap of Gum Arabic before and after doping It was found to be 3.237 eV for Gum Arabic pour and 2.3771 eV after doping. The three [FTO/Gum Doping by potassium bromide / (Saffron, Henna and Blue 8GX) dyes /Florin Tin Oxide(FTO)+ graphite and Iodine]solar cells were produced and characterized, which provided efficiency (η) is (0.099–0.46 and 0.56) %. Fill factor (FF) is (0.80–0.76 and 0.65), current density (Jsc) is (4.91–4.13 and 7.45) mAcm-2 and Open – circuit voltage (Voc) is (0.25 -1.457 and 1.199) V. This could be used at larger scale in promoting efficiency of solar cells.
