Smart Grid: An Overview and Its Connection with Communication Systems
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to present an acute overview of smart grid concepts, with a special attentiveness on the role that networking, communication, and middleware technologies will have in the alteration of existing electric power systems into smart grids. We will involve on the key technological, economic and societal drivers for the development of smart grids as well as the vision for using a smart grid.
