Vehicle Number Plate Detector

M. Ranjeeth Reddy, Dr.S. Manthandi Periannasamy

Abstract

In real word, traffic is so high unable to control and check all the vehicles passing by through highways and roads. Every country's traffic management and car owner identification has become a key issue. It might be tough to spot drivers who break traffic laws and drive too fast at times. As a result, it is impossible to apprehend and penalise such individuals because traffic officers may be unable to extract car numbers from a moving vehicle due to the vehicle's speed. As a result, we'll need a sophisticated system that can automatically capture and inspect passing automobiles and record the numbers in digital form. As a result, it would aid in maintaining a flawless check on passing automobiles, and security would be simple and trustworthy. Therefore, there is a need to develop a Vehicle Number Plate Detector system as a one of the solutions to this problem. This paper mainly designed for the purpose of security system. Because images taken by camera would be of large size and storing thousands of image would waste a lot of  time and memory space. As a result, we require a system that can reduce complexity. Only the number plate area is converted into digital text format in this article. Which only considers file sizes in kilobytes. As a result, we can store a lot of data in a short amount of space, and it will be simple to match criminal records using this digital data. MATLAB version 2009 was used to create this work.
