Smart Shopping System Application based on RFID.”

Abstract

Recent events indicate that going shopping in malls has taken on a daily routine in large cities. After making a purchase, customers must stand in queue for a long time to pay the bill. The fundamental idea is to make regular shopping easier by reducing time spent and eliminating daily hassles like selecting the right item and waiting in big lines. Therefore, since RFID passive tags have a greater range, between 1 and 5 m, we suggest using them in the smart purchasing system. Previous studies on the development of intelligent retail systems mostly relied on low- and high-frequency RFID, which have limited ranges and force shoppers to manually scan things with RFID scanners. Each smart cart in our suggested system has an LCD display, a microcontroller, and an RFID reader. As a result, the admin can examine all the product information. The customer pays the final bill employing the pre-charged cards that the shopping centre has provided after it is generated. The goal is to cut down on the amount of time required for the billing system.
