In this present time of automobile industry and our dependence upon fossil fuel for transportation is increasing day-by-day. Our excessive use of conventional energy source led us to the problem like global warming, increasing pollution in environment is major threat. To sort out this major issue up to some point, we can use Electric Vehicles (EV). In this paper, Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) for light electric vehicle is proposed. The bidirectional converter and Super-Capacitor are introduced to supply the power to brushless DC (BLDC) motor of golf cart and regenerative mode to charge the Super-Capacitor. The Battery and Super-Capacitor both voltage is same 48 V and supplying the 3-phase inverter. The PWM 3-phase inverter is there to drive 3-phase 48 V BLDC motor. The viability of the proposed method is verified by simulation.
