Abstract

Agriculture is the backbone of many economies as it employs the majority of the population directly or indirectly. In past years, new cropping patterns have evolved, developed, and been introduced in order to change the economic status of the farming community. Agriculture is crucial to India’s economic development. Any agricultural product must be graded by size in order to be properly priced. Today, we are considering various methods and measures to increase farmer income. Implementing new crop patterns, incorporating new technology, and promoting the organization of numerous agro processing industries will all play a significant role in the agricultural sector. The labour issue is also a major concern in many agricultural activities. It is also a technique for adding value to the product. Many countries grow onions as a commercial horticultural crop. India is the world’s second largest onion crop producer. Uniformity in size is important for making the product more appealing and improving its processing qualities. Farmers, agents, wholesalers, retail sellers, and customers currently manually size grade the majority of agricultural products including lemon, garlic, onion, tomato, orange, and apple.
